ABOUT ME

Lihong Chan is a Bay Area native, New York City based freelance dance artist. She has danced around the city and performed at The Joyce Theater, Arts on Site and more. She was an inaugural member of Limón2 and has performed as a guest with the José Limón Dance Company, danced as an apprentice with Lydia Johnson Dance. She has performed works by Ashley Lindsey, Erin Landers, Gregory Dolbashian, to name a few. 

 

She graduated in 2020 from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a BFA in Dance. During college, she performed with company in residence, Santa Barbara Dance Theater and UCSB Dance Company. She had the opportunity perform works by faculty members Christopher Pilafian, Brandon Whited, Christina McCarthy, guest choreographer Ephrat Asherie and Josie Limón reconstructed, Alice Condodina.

 

In the Bay Area she has performed with the ODC Dance Jam, a pre-professional company performing works by Kimi Okada, Brenda Way, Dexandro Montalvo, among others. Additionally, she danced with dNaga, under the direction of Claudine Naganuma, an inter-generational dance company that performed works surrounding the Asian American experience and Parkinson's Disease. Most recently, she had the privilege of performing Unboundat the UC Davis Mondavi Center. 

 

She has spent summers at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, BODYTRAFFIC, Backhausdance in Orange County, b12 summer workshops and the Countertechnique, One Body One Career Intensive.
